- Hello, I am from Ethiopia... do you know where is Ethiopia? It's the horn of Africa ... our capital is Addis Ababa... / - Yess and you speak Amharic. astonishment from my interlocutor
Africa is my homeland too! My grand-father is from Biskra (Algeria), the door opening onto the desert, I have been living in Morocco for 1 year. I know what is life in Africa, I know what I considerate when I say I love Africa. I have been living on this land for a least a whole lifetime. This is my secret.
But, look, I am from the world too. Observe how I do things, people have just tried to colonise me, they took my colour apart but my soul may still be intact.
I am not a star falling because of the rain. Powerfulness renders my body alive again and again until the ultimate pain will be hit and the main objective fulfilled.
I forget everything little by little about my stay in France, this country where I had always been rejected from by its people and by myself as well.
So how many countries have been to in Africa? / - Wait ... let me think ... 3! including two from North Africa.. *astonishment from my interlocutor again* / - But.. no?! I'd thought that you were about to say something like "yeahhh I have been to 21 countries blablabla blablabla".
No I am not one of these rich kids who think they know everything because they went to all the countries on a road trip with their mates... when I go somewhere, I want to learn more about the people who are living there. Of course I would love to visit other countries, but I want to take my time and learn about the culture, spend real moments with people and discover the country or region, so that I can say "I have actually been there and I know these people". Not only for the sake of saying so, but for the sake of communicating with the world.
